Restylane, Juvederm, Hylaform, and Cosmoderm fillers provide instant and long-lasting wrinkle correction. There are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers which restore volume and fullness to skin. These multi-use products correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds of all types, from fine lines around the lips to deep nasolabial folds.
Highly versatile fillers, are also used to increase fullness and enhance the lips, define the lip lines, fill scars and plump up facial areas that have lost their youthful appearance. Because these products are made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid they are safe, biocompatible, and biodegradable therefore allergy testing is not required.
Lasting up to twice as long as collagen, and in many cases even longer, treatments are typically scheduled only twice a year. Injected into the dermis in tiny amounts with a very fine needle, the result is instantaneous, producing a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to the skin.
Smoothing out folds and wrinkles by adding volume can make an enormous difference in appearance and sometimes make the face look several years younger. With hyaluronic acid fillers, you can enjoy facial rejuvenation without the use of foreign elements.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It gives volume to the skin, lubricates the joints and gives the eyes their shape. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane, Juvederm, Hylaform, and Cosmoderm are stabilized for long duration and are not of animal or human origin
How long will a treatment session take?
Treatments are very quick and easy process. As no pre-test is needed, the treatment can be carried out immediately. A treatment generally takes 30 minutes. The time differs somewhat, depending on the correction you wish to have performed.
Does it hurt?
Most people find the injections relatively painless. They may prick a little. If you like, a topical anesthetic can be applied to the area being treated prior to your procedure. When enhancing the lips, a local anesthetic injection is often given as this area is the most sensitive.
How soon will I see the results?
The results can be seen immediately.
What will I look like after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. After a lip treatment, the lips may become swollen and look somewhat uneven. This can persist for a few days (up to a week). If the discomfort continues, please contact your physician.
Are there precautions after my treatment with the fillers?
Yes. During the first 48 hours after your treatment, do not massage or rub the treated area. If you have had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days after the treatment. Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. in a sauna or by sunbathing) or extreme cold.
What should I do prior to the treatments?
Avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort and high doses of Vitamin E supplements one week prior to procedure. This will help minimize any bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
What other treatments are typically used along with the fillers?
Quite frequently our patients will have Botox injections to soften the dynamic wrinkles caused by movement such as frowning or squinting or lip pursing.
Where can the fillers be used?
Facial lines and features that can be corrected using these hyaluronic acid fillers are:
Worry lines that run across the forehead (forehead lines)
Crow's feet at the corner of the eyes (periorbital lines)
Frown lines that run between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
